Open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, the bands play appropriately

Welcome to the Big Walnut Music and Marching Booster website! Please visit often to find out about news, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

Although there have been some changes in our schools due to budget restrictions for 2010-11, we are looking forward to another exciting year in the BW music program!

We invite you to come to a monthly meeting and find out how you can lend a hand.

Even if you can't attend meetings regularly, please volunteer - there are many opportunities!

NEW: Opportunity to raise funds for your music student: We have been asked by the Lions Club to provide gate workers for the Labor Day Flea Market.

If you or your student (middle school or high school) would like to take a 2 hour shift during Labor Day at one of the corners on the square, your student will be credited approximately $29 toward their music account.

This pays for trips, band shoes, equipment and other fees. If both parent and student work a shift, $58 goes into the student account.

Two people work each corner and we prefer to have at least one adult at each corner (or very experienced High School students.)

We have openings in shifts that run from 10:45 - 1:00 and 12:45 - 3:00. (There is a 15 minute transition period.)

The Big Walnut Music and Marching Boosters is a group of dedicated parents, relatives, and friends of all students involved in the Big Walnut Music Department.

We are a force of parent volunteers to support fund raising and other activities for all BW music programs and the students involved.

We meet at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Big Walnut High School Band Room. All are welcome!

THE KROGER REWARDS PROGRAM IS NOW AN ANNUAL PROGRAM - IF YOU ARE ALREADY PART OF THIS PROGRAM YOU NEED TO RE-REGISTER SO NOT TO LOSE REWARDS!!!
How to renew:

Log onto www.krogercommunityrewards.com and click on the box for "Ohio"

Under "Giving Back to Our Communities" click on the words "re enroll"

Select our organization which is 80182 - Big Walnut Music & Marching Boosters

Click the Save key and you're done.

The Kroger Community Rewards Program

The Big Walnut Music & Marching Boosters have partnered with the Kroger Company to help you raise money for your student’s band and/or choir expenses. When you register your Kroger Plus card in the Community Rewards Program, Kroger will pay us 5% of what our members spend each month and your portion will go directly into your BWHS student’s account. That money can be used for trips or other expenses related to participation in the Big Walnut music program.

Here’s how it works:

• Register online at krogercommunityrewards.com and be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy.
• To select our organization, use our member number of 80182 or you can search by putting in Big Walnut Music Boosters
• After you register, send an email to Doian Stayton, Booster Treasurer at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it letting her know you’ve completed the registration and include the student’s name you want the money to be credited to.
• You must swipe your registered Kroger Plus card every time you shop in order for your purchases to count towards the rewards.
• Kroger will send the Boosters a check each quarter along with a statement showing how much was earned by each Plus Card.
• The Boosters will credit each student’s account appropriately and send periodic emails advising you of your student’s account balance.
